Edged Weapons

All uniformed military and Political formations had their own bayonet, knife, dagger and/or sword to complete their individual uniform. Most were for daily wear while many were utilitarian, such as with the military where they were used in combat. Many though were exclusively worn for “show” as part of the daily uniform and for dress/ceremonial occasions. Fighting knifes and bayonets were mostly exclusive to military formations such as the Army (Heere), Waffen-SS, Navy(Kriegsmarine) and Air Force (Luftwaffe). Each of these though did have their own unique dagger and/or sword as well. Swords and especially daggers were prolific within all organizations of the Third Reich; Political, Red Cross, Police, Reichsbahn, Stahlhelm, NSDAP,SA, NSKK, NSKF,DLV, RAD, DAF, SS, HJ, DJ, TENO, NPEA, US Army, USMC, US Navy, Marine Corps, AAF, USAAF, CBI, Airborne, SF, Ranger, 1SSF, M3, M6, Kabar, Fighting Knife, V42, saber, sword, cutlass, foot artillery

Red Cross (DRK) Enlisted Dagger (Hewer)

1 Red Cross enlisted hewer having a nearly perfect blade of polished steel with blunt tip & sharp saw-tooth spine. Unsharpened factory edge; unmarked as is usually the case in these daggers; cross guard and pommel retain nearly all there silvering; both checkered-obverse and smooth-reverse grip panels are perfect with unmolested screw heads. Blade fits snugly into black lacquered steel scabbard retaining +99% finish! Black leather frog with early aluminum rivets is equally nice, maker marked and dated 1940. About as nice as they come! -HOLD
