Headgear

All uniformed military and Political formations had their own unique headgear. Most were for daily wear while many were utilitarian, such as with the military where they were used for combat & training purposes i.e. helmets. Still others were exclusively worn for dress or ceremonial occasions. Headgear varied in material, color & decoration depending on their use (climate) and organization. 1 Fine navy blue doeskin wool crown and subdued, multi-color textured cap band indicative of a custom tailored cap; all gold bullion wire insignia to include early short winged eagle, matching wreath & cockade and heavy double row bullion wire oak leaves on visor; black leather adjustable chinstrap with snap; typical KM style lining having a blue-silk lining, green visor and drawstring-style leather sweatband having applied metal initials H.O.W. for Admiral H.
