Headgear

All uniformed military and Political formations had their own unique headgear. Most were for daily wear while many were utilitarian, such as with the military where they were used for combat & training purposes i.e. helmets. Still others were exclusively worn for dress or ceremonial occasions. Headgear varied in material, color & decoration depending on their use (climate) and organization. 1 First pattern ‘Reichsfinanzverwaltung -Customs’ Officer visor, quality tailored of fine field green wool with dark green wool cap band & piping throughout; Silvered political eagle & Army-style wreath w/national cockade above green & silver wire twisted chincord; fine black leather visor; gold-ribbed silk lining stitching present but missing eisenglas; minty wide beige leather sweatband with black velvet hinge attachment; size 57-58; cap appears as unissued and near Mint overall-$575.
