Army Officer’s Dagger Rig by Eickhorn

Army Officer’s Dagger Rig by Eickhorn

Price: Sold

Description: This dagger comes with its original knot and deluxe hangers; the early pommel, crossguard, ferrule, scabbard and even the hanger have obviously always been together.  The deep, dark patination on these parts is remarkable; the grip is a very pleasing orange color, and is in excellent condition as well.

The scabbard is steel with exceptional detailing. The panels are very crisp and the silvering is still 100% also with some frosting remaining in the protected areas around the bands and the throat. The scabbard bands are the early type having good detail and hand enhancing to the oak leafing. The throat is the thicker type and it is retained by a flat-type center placed screw.

The blade of this example is bright with nearly all its cross graining and needle point with slight in & out marks. The blade’s reverse ricasso is deeply etched with the 1935-41 Eickhorn Squirrel logo. The original brown leather washer is in place. This dagger’s original untouched officer’s knot remains in place; the superb condition deluxe hangers have an identical patina to the dagger furniture; an exceptional uncleaned early Eickhorn dagger rig;
