The face plate features an embossed second pattern DRK national eagle with down swept wings, clutching a cross in its talons with an embossed swastika to breast on a raised pebbled field. Outer edge of buckle with a slight recess with embossed, circular laurel leaf wreath. Reverse with crimped outer edge and stamped out buckle catch and prong retaining clip. Reverse well marked with impressed script, &#8220;Ges. Gesch&#8221; for Gesetzlich Gesch\u00fctzt (Patent Pending), and manufacturer&#8217;s number, &#8220;1&#8221;. Catch rectangular prong retaining bar and prongs all intact. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> DRK regulations of January 1938 introduced new uniforms and insignia which included both an EM\/NCO\u2019s and Officer\u2019s belt buckle. Buckle worn by ranks of DRK-Wachtf\u00fchrer to DRK-Oberstf\u00fchrer. Of Note: the two highest DRK ranks, DRK-Generalf\u00fchrer and DRK-Generalhauptf\u00fchrer wore the same buckle but with a gold finish. <\/span><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description:\u00a0 50mm diameter, stamped aluminum buckle with a silver wash.
