Description: Third pattern, full length approx 36mm X 46cm black wool cuffband having type-B silver-thread machine-embroidered “GROSSDEUTSCHLAND” in sütterlin-style lettering (sütterlinschrift). Uncommon Soutache Borders (Russian braid) are of genuine silver-wire, reflecting Officer or Sr. NCOs choice of wear since after the 3rd pattern GD bands were instituted and issued in silver-thread machine embroidery, there really was no difference for rank. Reverse embroidery has a mirrored appearance and base wool material is of the thinner-type variety. Near Mint, never applied.
