BACKGROUND: The Mauser Hsc was manufactured from 1940 until the end of the Second World War. The German designation for this handgun was “Mauser Hahn-Selbstspanner Pistole Ausführung C (Mauser self cocking hammer Pistole, third and final design “C”). It features a semi-exposed hammer, double-action trigger, single column magazine and a spring surrounding the barrel. The Mauser Hsc competed with the Walther PPK, PP and Sauer 38H for military and police use. It was initially procured by the Kriegsmarine and soon was followed by the Heer and Police. Hsc pistols used by the Luftwaffe and Waffen -SS were procured from army and police stocks.
