Choice example of a badge that is missing from most collections.

Background:Instituted October 8, 1943, the SA Military Badge for War Wounded was awarded to men over 18 years old, deemed unfit for service with a war injury, who completed repeated tests under medical supervision. Other men, who had a disability or were wounded in the war, yet still fit for service, could receive the badge if they had taken part in military training before the injury and had proven their readiness for action.
