Description: Kriegsmarine private purchase M31 Summer White-top Matrosenmütze with ‘Zerstörer Leberecht Maass’ cap tally. The cap body is a removable white-top over dark blue wool cap band. White cotton lining that once had an eisenglas. Full tan leather sweatband; Capband tally is full length, held to the sides with thread loops and properly folded at the rear. Its woven metallic lettering is age darkened; gilt finished Kriegsmarine cap eagle & national cockade are custom attached to the cap’s peak with an internal stiffener. An excellent example of a Summer Matrosenmütze with an ID’d Destroyer Tally.
