3 piece construction; iron center & silver 2 piece frame with large suspension ring mounted through integral upper cross loop(see pics); original 1870 ribbon; cross remains totally uncleaned. Quality case in its day with white padded inner-lid having two elastic bands to retain ribbon; cream colored inner fitted-base for cross; square-cornered period box with brass latch-over clasp; 1870 Iron Cross 2nd classes are extremely uncommon and those with their original Ribbon & Case are rare at nearly 150 yrs old.
