BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: This early Army is a very desirable dagger. The pommel, cross guard and scabbard are the first style used, having brass base and being silver-plated. The pommel is equipped with the twelve standing oak leaves and acorns with each leaf having hand-done enhancing. The upper top of the pommel is perfect & shows no bruising, The cross guard eagle is the first type A. The bird retains 100% of its details with fine head and breast feathering showing no wear. The silver finish is still all there on this guard. The ferrule is the early matching type. The grip is one of the “thick” types being a choice orange color. The grip is chip-free and mates perfectly with the fittings. The scabbard also has fine silvering. It is straight throughout with a superb silvered finish, matching that of the hilt mounts. The bands are beautiful. The throat is retained by two flatter style dome head screws that remain unmolested.
The blade remains bright, and appears near perfect overall; one can feel a couple of edge snags but they’re nearly imperceivable. The P.D. Luneschloss Oval logo is finely etched and the leather blade buffer is in-situ. Comes with its (apparent from wear) original silver portepee. Just a killer silvered early piece that remains totally untouched.
