Price: Sold

Description: Early Period, pre-1934 HJ knife with 100% motto etch;  drop forged steel, single edged, non-fullered blade with that distinctive audible “ring”. Blade retains its factory shape being unsharpened. Maker marked “FR.v.d.Kohlen Solingen-Ges.Gesch” on the left side of the blade. The leather buffer in situ. The cross guard and a stylized eagle head pommel or all bright nickel.. The knife has molded, black, checkered bakelite grips with dual headed, nickel rivets. The obverse grip has an embedded enameled HJ diamond. The diamond has a very translucent red enamel with a pebbled field visible underneath and shows a desirable slight “wiggle”. The black lacquered steel scabbard is excellent with its original black lacquer finish; earlier brown leather straps are complete with matched, working brown-enamel snap. An exceptional early one and hard to upgrade these days!
