BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: An early first period (1933-35) SA Dagger by “Aesculap of Tuttlingen”; the obverse blade ricasso bearing the etching of their unique logo reflecting this maker. Blade remains in superb condition showing its high polish with very faint runner marks. Motto is well defined with all its matt-gray etched coloring. Excellent Nickel-silver crossguards with the lower one gau marked ‘sa’ for Sachsen’. Dark brown wood grip fits snuggly to both top and bottom fittings; some minor bruising to wood above lower crossguard. No cracks or chipping to the grip with the slightest of bruising & color loss from age. Correct nickel national eagle and enameled SA button are excellent and nicely fitted to grip. Early brown anodized steel scabbard is a beauty showing 97% of its original thinning finish; Nickel silver scabbard fittings retain all four of their unmolested retaining screws. Blades mates snugly with scabbard the way it should
