BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: This SS NCO’s Degen is in untouched condition. The nickel plated parts are in very good condition and show only minimal age. The pommel cap is the flatter NCO type. On the top is a fine set of raised SS runes which retain complete background darkening. There is no sign that this cap has ever been removed. The “D” flows nicely through the crossguard area and ends in a teardrop quillon. The lower ferrule is decorated with six standing oak leaves separated by acorns. Both the leaves and the acorns have fine details.
The blade, although unmarked, is a very fine example in near mint condition. It has a standard matte finish and measures 33 inches long. The is a white leather blade washer remains in place.
The scabbard shell is straight throughout. The original paint shows some wear but remains at least 90% intact with gloss. The upper scabbard mount is in the “Wotan’s Knot” configuration with most of the darkening present. As is usually the case, this scabbard throat IS stamped with the SS-Kultur Zeichen stamp.
