BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: A pre-war early issue and/or private purchase Heer Visor Cap for an EM/NCO of pioneer troops (Gebirgsjäger). Ribbed feldgrün wool crown and dark green wool cap band both surmounted with black wool piping (waffenfarbe) for Pioneer (Engineer) personnel; black leather chinstrap retained by plain black-enameled steel buttons; early nickel-silver Army Cap eagle & aluminum cockade are original to cap; interior is excellent with 95% clear eisenglas present. Issue looking rust colored-cotton lining stamped size ‘55”inder the eisenglass and a very well marked russet-leather sweatband that remains tightly stitched within. Under the sweatband is both the Munich cap company’s full name, address & telephone number dated 1936 but also the ink-stamped maker’s name & date of 23.9.35 of the leather sweatband itself; Carl Nordmann-Leder fabrik-Rudostadt, Thuringen; Black vulkan-fiber visor with typical rust colored underside; A cap with a lot of attribution, Excellent condition overall.
