Italian WWII Fascist Officer’s MVSN (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale) Black Visor Cap for the black dress Fascist uniform; fixed black wool cap band having two gold stripes (one wide/one narrow for rank of Centurione (Capt). Beautiful gold & silver bullion MVSN Badge to front above black leather chin strap attached with two gold matching side buttons; solid black leather visor; red silk interior having Rimini tailors logo; brown ersatz sweat band. Not named appearing as issued & worn with no mothing but a couple of wear spots to lining and some crazing to leather visor, approx a size 57; a beautiful, uncommon fascist visor with a “crusher look.”
Background: February 1923 the Blackshirts became the Volunteer Militia for National Security (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale, or MVSN), which lasted until the Italian Armistice in 1943. The Italian Social Republic, located in the areas of northern Italy occupied by Germany, reformed the MVSN into the Republican National Guard (Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana) or GNR).
