The eagle features out-stretched wings and is clutching a wreathed, canted, swastika in its talons. The eagle has an Iron Cross superimposed over crossed swords on its breast. The reverse has a crimped hinge inset into a recess with crimped retainers, a thin round horizontal pin and a catch also inset into a recess with crimped retainers. The reverse is well marked with embossed numerals, “1”, and, “Ges. Gesch.”, indicating, Gesetzlich Geschützt or Patent Pending.
