Rare uniform grouping of D.K.i.g. recipient OberstLt. Erhard Pröhl (d.Gen.St.5.Gebirgs-Division); The Uniform jacket encompasses in its specialized form, Carmen colored piping throughout with unique collar insignia for a Sr. General Staff officer; within the lining is an attributed Innsbruck tailors label dated 10/1942 as a Hauptmann; there are both EK2 & Russian front ribbons, loops for ribbon bar & loops for 4 badges to include his Gold German Cross. Tunic showing some wear spots around cuffs and sleeve area; Complimenting this fine tunic are both a Superb hand-embroidered silver wire sleeve edelweiss & breast eagle; Uniform breeches have the ubiquitous generals-wide stripes in their unique Carmen-color & are tailored for Gebirgsjäger ankle boots, rare indeed! Rare General Staff Officers Visor Cap is excellent to near mint showing only slightest of wear; -A rare attributed General Staff officer of the 5 GebirgsjägerDivision.

BACKGROUND: Born 11.11.1911 was commissioned on 01.04.1936 and on 03.01.1939 was listed as an officer of the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 138. He is listed as a Oberstleutnant, a staff officer of 5 Gebirgsjäger Division from 25.01.1944 to 10.01.1945. And near the end as commander of Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 leading its HochgebirgsJäger-Btl.3 in actions in the Italian Alps in the spring of 1945. He was awarded the DKiG on 1 June 1944 while with 5 GbJ-Div.
