Div shoulder patches, Tech-5 rank wool chevrons & overseas bars; matched set of screwback 18th Inf Rgt DIs on both collar & overseas cap + matched screwback US & 18th Infantry collar discs; sterling Combat Infantry Badge, ribbon bars, Pres, Unit Citation ribbon and both Belgian & French Cords are all original to this piece. 1944 dated Contractors tag in pocket. A beautiful untampered-with original period uniform.

BACKGROUND: 18th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Inf Division saw action in Sicily August 1943 and landed at Easy-Red on Omaha Beach, D-Day June 6th, 1944. The 79th Infantry Division landed on Omaha Beach D-Day +6 fighting its way across Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and the Ardennes into and across Germany through to Bavaria.
