CARPENTER -1943; Named, double breasted blue-jacket having double ‘New London Conn.’ tailor’s label in/on pocket dated May 1943 with full name D.C. Carpenter; original bullion NCO Submariner’s badge on cuff of right sleeve along with bullion embroidered CPO Torpedo man rank patch above it, four 4-year service stripes for 16+years USN service on left sleeve, sterling silver Combat Submariner’s Badge on left chest having 4 stars for combat patrols above 3 rows of sewn-on Wide Ribbons for:
(1) USN ‘Distinguished Marksman’ Medal,
(2) USN Good Conduct Medal with 3- stars,
(3) Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal,
(4) American Campaign Medal,
(5) American-Defense Service Medal,
(6) *?Army of Occupation of Germany Medal 1918-1923, (this particular ribbon is the rare first version in silk with wavy edge that is seldom encountered, see pic #6)
