WWII US Paratrooper Grouping of Tech-5 Robert Ruppe, 187th Parachute-Glider Rgt, 11th Airborne Division; Ruppe was from Sterling, Illinois; Painted B4 Bag w/Ike Jacket & Wool Uniform Shirt having all matched & Cross-Stitched Insignia to include 2 rare 187th Airborne PIR bullion & silk embroidered shoulder patches, 2 gold bullion hand embroidered Parachute wing backgrounds on black wool with pinback sterling wings, 2 11th Airborne Div bullion embroidered blue silk shoulder sleeve patches on OD wool and 2 pr wool Tech-5 sleeve rank stripes; Ike jacket further retains Ruppe’s infantry collar brass, CIB, ribbon bar, zipper entry and s/n R0140; number; June 1944 dated Quartermaster label remains in pocket; B4 bag with working zippers is all Hand-Painted to include 11th Abn Patches, Para & Glider patches, Large Silver Jump Wings & large 187th insignia superimposed over jump wings; this great one-of-a-kind Paratrooper grouping is highlighted in volume 3 of ‘Heroes in Our Midst’.
