1941 Mauser/Oberndorf-Portuguese Contract K98k; WaA135 proofed throughout; left of receiver ‘Mod.98’ legend replaced with: ‘MAUSER WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N.’ “all matching numbers (s/n H15322) including stock with all small parts numbered or proofed; early commercial blue finish to 93% throughout; bright bore; original cleaning rod; ‘Portuguese crest’ on breech above ‘1941’ date & below Mauser proof; untouched stock w/ crisp, clear waffenamts proofs, serial number and the typical dings & scarring attributed to excellent weapons of this age; uncommon and excellent overall.
*Most of these weapons are found in mint condition indicating delivery to Portugal w/o use. The Wehrmacht diverted large numbers of these K98ks to its own forces at the beginning of the war and any showing use such as this one should be considered one of them.
