Description:. Holy Grail Erel Labeled Luftwaffe officer’s White-Top visored cap; highest quality example from this famous maker still with its fragile paper label. Correct white waffle-pattern removable cotton top; wide black-ribbed mohair cap band having plaited metallic wire piping throughout. The black lacquered composite visor is edged in black oilcloth, the silver metallic chincord is fastened with two small pebbled silver buttons, the hand-embroidered silver bullion wire eagle on white wool is removable. It, and wreath with vented (screened) rosette both still glisten like new! Internally the cap is lined in a Erel’s cream colored rayon.
The large celluloid sweat diamond is perfect with its embossed gold Erel Sonderklasse-Extra logo AND ITS ORIGINAL EREL FOIL PAPER LABEL! Remarkably all three tear-off portions remain. The light tan colored Erel-style sweatband also has the silver embossed Erel logo, vented brow area and their prominent sweatband-hinge. Approx size 56. This cap has NO issues and shows no actual wear with its foil-paper label still being present. A wonderful example and the Holy Grail for Erel Caps.
