BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: An early first period (1933-35) SA Dagger by “Aesculap of Tuttlingen”; the obverse blade ricasso bearing the etching of their unique logo reflecting this maker. Blade remains in superb condition showing its high polish with very faint runner marks and a few minor speckles. Motto is well defined with all its matt-gray etched coloring. Excellent Nickel-silver crossguards with the lower one Gau-marked ‘sw’ . Dark brown wood grip fits snuggly to both top and bottom fittings having never been disturbed; No cracks or chipping to the grip with practically no age bruising. Correct nickel national eagle and enameled SA button are excellent and nicely fitted to grip. Early brown anodized steel scabbard is a beauty showing 99% of its original anodized w/lacquer over finish; Nickel silver scabbard fittings retain all four of their unmolested retaining screws. Blades mates snugly with scabbard the way it should.
