Description: A pre-war Private Purchase Heer Visor Cap for an NCO of mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger). Fine feldgrau wool crown and dark green wool cap band both surmounted with poison green wool piping (waffenfarbe) for Gebirgsjäger personnel; black leather chinstrap retained by plain black-enameled steel buttons; early high quality nickel-silver Army Cap eagle & cockade set are original to cap; interior is well worn but retains its full eisenglass with Colorful Soldiers Portrait & “Die Qualitätsmütze”; gold colored-silken lining & wide tan-leather sweatband that shows most of the wear. Black vulkan-fiber visor with beige underside; size 57 with some tattering to sweatband but exterior of cap remains excellent.
