Description: A pre-war Private Purchase Heer Visor Cap for an NCO of mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger). Fine feldgrau ribbed-wool crown and dark green wool cap band both surmounted with poison green wool piping (waffenfarbe) for Gebirgsjäger personnel; black leather chinstrap retained by plain black-enameled steel buttons; early high quality nickel-silver Army Cap eagle & cockade set are original to cap; interior is well worn but retains its full eisenglass with Colorful Soldiers Portrait & “Die Qualitätsmütze”; gold colored-silken lining & wide tan-leather sweatband that shows most of the wear. Black vulkan-fiber visor with beige underside; size 57 with some tattering to sweatband but exterior of cap remains excellent.
