Price: $475
BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: This US M1 Helmet Shell is a mint front-seam Swivel bale type; circa 1944 retaining 100% of its OD paint inside & out with a few minor handling scuffs. No visible lot-numbers stampings inside, but paint is minty and may be obscuring them. Appears to be a ‘McCord-made’ pot. Although thinning, even the Swivel bales still retain most of their original OD paint. Chinstraps are equally mint and still slightly stiff (as new); buckle assembly is the 1944-type of ‘blackened brass’.
M1 helmet Liner is the 1944-type by IMP (International Molded Plastics) high pressure composite liner representing only 3% of the total liners made; ‘IMP’ marked in the liners crown along with mold number ‘3’. Suspension is all khaki-colored webbing w/late flat-lace tie; 1944-type neck-suspension strap w/open-cut ends and secured with riveted,’ blackened-brass’ triangular washers; pre-1945 khaki snap-in nape strap. ‘Blackened-brass’ buckled, Khaki headband is dated 1945.
