Eagle shows nice detailing with solid reverse, cast hinge, wide horizontal pin and catch all intact. Reference: The Kriegsmarine adopted wear of the new national eagle on the front of the headgear and the right breast of the uniform March 1934. This particular removable metal style of eagle was worn on a variety of garments as opposed to the army version which was only worn with the white summer tunic.
