BUY / RESERVE THIS ITEMDescription: Fabulous all-original double-cuff titled Luftwaffe Officers Tunic & Breeches. This four pocket tunic remains untouched having an elaborate Potsdam Tailors label at the collar and the owners embroidered initials on the interior chest pocket. Fine blue wool tunic & breeches with blue rayon linings, typical pinstriped sleeve linings, belly-band and sword/dagger hanger. ‘Extra Fein’ marked 19.5mm pebbled buttons throughout. Twisted silver-cord collar piping surrounds the hand-embroidered silver bullion Flieger-Oberleutnant collar tabs. Silver brocade, sew-in Flieger-Oberleutnant boards w/16mm pebbled shoulder buttons. Dress aguilette button under the right shoulder board. Beautiful hand-embroidered bullion breast eagle and EK2 button hole ribbon to front center of tunic. Left sleeve cuff double untouched cuff titles; both ‘KRETA’ and above it ‘AFRIKA’ set-off this great piece. This Oberleutnant was highly decorated, with the Tunic having 7 pairs of original badge loops; 2 pairs of wide loops on the right chest (no-doubt for both a German Cross & Spanish Cross), 4 pairs of loops on the left chest and 1 pair above the chest pocket for a ribbon bar. All loops appear to have been added at the same time. This, plus the superior quality of the uniform and minimal wear lead it to likely be the owner’s dress uniform, or so called “Closet Queen”!
