They feature a zipper down front with snap closure at waist, which also has a very nice integral belt with a sliding buckle. The bottoms of both legs have long zippers on the interior side for more easily being fitted over boots. There are lots of pockets on the pants, many of which have internal pockets and other fittings for various pieces of equipment, probably at least one for a knife, in case of a bail out. There is even a built-in holster on the right side. The interior is fully lined with fur, and the waist area has buttons and some small straps for suspenders. All of the zippers are functional and retain their leather tabs The snaps are also all functional and marked STOCKO; the zippers are marked RAPID. No rips, tears or holes and show only slight use inside and out. Great set in an average size. Background:The Kanalhosen, or channel pants, which was the nickname given to these flight pants during the many flights to England early in the war. They were part of a two piece suit (Kanalanzug) that featured big pockets for carrying all necessary flight gear. There were Summer & Winter versions; winters were typically leather and/or blue-grey fabric, fur lined and later electrically heated as these are.
